La muestra se abre con una de las obras m\u00e1s emblem\u00e1ticas de Berthe Morisot, <em>Au bal<\/em> (1875, Mus\u00e9e Marmottan Monet): retrato de mujer parisina en busto vestida de baile, que sostiene un abanico decorado con una escena galante. Dos abanicos de seda del siglo XVIII, entre ellos el que aparece en el cuadro, ambos pertenecientes a Berthe Morisot, se exponen por primera vez, reunidos para la ocasi\u00f3n junto al retrato. Ilustran el \u00abarte de vivir a la francesa\u00bb y dan testimonio del legado del Siglo de las Luces, especialmente presente en la alta burgues\u00eda a la que pertenec\u00eda Berthe Morisot.
